With my anticipated entry into the workplace (finally!!) I’ve taken the opportunity to create a mini Work Capsule Wardrobe for myself. I already had quite a few pieces that, styled in the right way, would be totally appropriate for work. I also added in a few new items (some second hand, 1 or 2 new pieces) and below is what I’ve gathered together. 12 Pieces. And 12 (or more) outfits.
THE 12 PIECES
Polo necks are my absolute JAM so I had to include one in this collection. This one is a polo neck jumper so it’s even warmer and ideal for staying cosy going into the cooler weather. A t-shirt is a handy basic to dress down a pair of smart trousers if that’s a style you like. Check is a great print for adding interest to your looks while staying professional, so I love this check blazer and check trousers. Loafers are my go-to work shoe but for something fancier I added in a small black heel and a snazzy pair of red sock boots.
I’ve rekindled my love of Pinterest lately, and have been pinning loads of work-wear inspiration. I’m really loving a simple look, with just a few key pieces eg. blazer, basic trousers, plain tops & tees, and a bit of denim.. Lots of black, white and grey with a hint of red and check.
I put together 12 looks from my 12 individual pieces. I am fairly sure there are even more options with these pieces but I just wanted to give you a bit of inspiration, and if you have similar pieces in your wardrobe you can try mix and match some different looks. These 12 looks should get you (and me) started though, for a couple of weeks. These looks should be appropriate for most work environments, but change things up if and when you need to by adding a smarter top, a pair of tights or more appropriate footwear.
THE 12 OUTFITS
I hope this helps you out with your own Work Capsule Wardrobe. Of course this goes without saying, but swap in any of your own pieces you have, if you have a different colour blazer or a different print trouser. Make it your own with whatever you already have. That’s the most sustainable way to create you capsule closet.

And finally, here is some more work-wear inspiration. I put together a few looks that I’ll hopefully be wearing to work in the coming months.
